I’ve just returned from a easy, breezy girls’ getaway to Miami that was essentially the official end to my quarter century celebration.
One thing that I tried to remember during this trip is to always Live in the Moment, which for me can be such a difficult task. When there are moments of peace, even when I am surrounded by beauty, as during my trip, my mind can wander to moments that have already passed, or I can start thinking about things that need to get done or that I’d like to do. But one thing that I’m trying to get in the habit of is just being in the moment and enjoying everything as it comes.
So as I sat on the sun-drenched Miami Beach and listened to the waves, or rode bikes through South Beach with my twin sis and mom, or even when I got stung by a jellyfish while snorkeling, I tried to capture those times in my memory because I never know when I’ll get those moments again.
As Henry David Thoreau once said:
So as cliché as it sounds, I am using this change in age as almost a new beginning. A time to savor the little moments in life and to try and see the world as more half glass full instead of, well, you know the rest. Life is too short to worry about the little things or to surround yourself with those who don’t have your best intentions in mind. Live life! Love life!
So with that said, I just want to share a few fun photos from the getaway that helped to remind me what’s really important:
