Banana Almond Butter Popsicles

After a brief blogging hiatus, I’m finally back and couldn’t be happier! I was just taking some time to reassess where my blog was going and how I wanted to move forward and I think that I’ve finally gotten a better grasp on it all. I’ve also officially moved to hosting my own site to get more creative freedom and so far I am truly loving how it has been going and am so excited for what the future holds. So with that being said, and to celebrate my return to the world of blogging, I bring you a super simple, super delicious recipe for these awesome Banana Almond Butter Popsicles!

I remember when I was a kid, my mom used to make me and my siblings this amazing milkshake that had nothing but bananas, peanut butter (Skippy, of course), milk, ice and a little sugar for sweetness and we literally went bananas for it! 🍌

The sweetness from the bananas and sugar, the slight saltiness from the peanut butter, and the creaminess from the milk created a taste sensation like no other and I could’ve literally had a glass every. single. day.

DSC_0021Nowadays, peanut butter seems to have become so passé (even though I love the stuff and could eat it on just a spoon, no problem) and the variety in the types of nut butters available in stores is immense. Just the other day, I saw a nut-free variety made completely from soy, but I think I’ll take a pass on that for now 😐

Anyhow, after acquiring a jar of Justin’s Almond Butter the other day, I thought it would be amazing to recreate my most beloved of childhood milkshakes with just a few tiny tweaks. I swapped the peanut butter with almond butter, the milk with almond milk, and the sugar with honey, and instead of a milkshake, I made popsicles because they’re fun, and it’s hot, and why the hell not?

So have fun with this recipe and go nuts or bananas! Maybe add a dash of cinnamon or chunks of bananas to get fun chewy bits throughout or maybe even try a different nut butter entirely like hazelnut or cashew or even pistachio, the possibilities are endless!

I’ll always hold the original near and dear to my heart, but these popsicles are definitely a close second.

DSC_0011I’m also using these popsicles to make my triumphant return to Fiesta Friday #80!! It’s been way too long and I know that I’ve missed seeing all of the amazing recipes each and every week and I’ve also missed out on so much, like the passing of a beloved blogger, Selma from Selma’s Table whose motto was “Life doesn’t have to be perfect to be wonderful” which is something I couldn’t agree with more. So here’s to Selma, aka Diva Sparkle, whose shine I hope is never dulled wherever she is now.

YUM! Love those popsicles! I am on SUCH a popsicle and Ice Cream binge these days… Summer definitely has something to do with it!
The combo of Almond Butter with Banana (or anything for that matter!) is fantastic! I think this would be a HIT at my home, but also need to send this to my sister! She would love this! 🙂

Thank you! And absolutely! Almond butter has become my new obsession and even if you don’t have popsicle molds, you can still add all of the ingredients to the blender with a little bit of ice and it’s just as tasty 🙂

Welcome back! The smoothie sounds delicious, and so do these popsicles! I’d imagine the almond butter not only contributes some delicious flavour but also a lovely texture to the popsicles as well 🙂 (These popsicle moulds are really cute, where did you find yours?)

These popsicles look delicious! Very creamy and yummy. I am a peanut butter lover and haven’t ventured out to trying the other nut butters.

I love this idea! Normally I think of Popsicles as just fruity, but I love this combo so much. Pinned!
