Hello and welcome! I am so thrilled that you have decided to stop by.
I am a born and raised Brooklynite (as my blog title makes apparent haha) and although it barely resembles the place where I grew up, my heart is still very fond of this borough. It’s bananas how different this place is from when I was a kid; from an artisan ice cream shop in the same spot where my childhood corner bodega once stood to a Trader Joe’s (love that place) housed within the walls of a former Brooklyn bank, times have definitely changed.
You can often find me taking in the view at Brooklyn Bridge Park, smelling the roses at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, or soaking up the rays (and battling the crowd for a spot on the sand) at Coney Island beach. There is so much that this one borough offers that I sometimes wonder why people choose to leave.
Some of my passions include traveling, volunteering, cooking, writing, and yes, Michael Jackson (!), so if any of these interest you as well, please tag along for the ride. I am constantly looking for new (and often free) things to do around the city and fun ways to spend my time and I look forward to sharing them with you. And although life isn’t always perfect, it is about making the best with what we’ve got. I hope you stick around and I thank you for reading!
